gene1Barry Nove was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Barry has researched his family history since 1994. He has been a member of Jewish Genealogy Societies across the country and is currently a member of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Washington DC.

He has been a featured presenter at congregations, Jewish Nursing Homes, Independent Living Communities, Jewish Community Centers, and Day Schools.

Barry is the author of short stories on the Ellis Island Experience, two of which won online prizes. His specialty is speaking to audiences of 20 to over 200! He has recently published The Ellis Island Experience: A Sampling of Stories and How to Research Your Own (January 2014).

Barry researched the Ellis Island experience with the archivists at the Ellis Island Museum and organized the first family historical re-enactment tour of Ellis Island (120 people of all ages), which was filmed by PBS as part of Ancestors, a 10-part series, which aired in 1997.
